Herbie Hancock is set to release his memoir on October 23; Google Hangout interview planned for first week of November

On October 23, 14-time Grammy Award winner Herbie Hancock will be releasing his memoirs entitled "Herbie Hancock - Possibilities". Herbie is unarguably one of the more influential and beloved musicians and composers of our time and time.

It goes without saying that Herbie Hancock remains where he has always been: at the forefront of world culture, technology, business and music.  In addition to being recognized as a legendary pianist and composer, Herbie Hancock has been an integral part of every popular music movement since the 1960’s.  His book will reflect on everything from how he turned his thriving career into one that survived more than seven decades. The book will also reintroduce us to Herbie as a musician, composer, professor, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, and also as a father, husband and innovator.

Those who have been privileged enough to get an advance read of the book have nothing but glowing reviews about it. Paul McCartney was quoted as saying that the book is "a fascinating account of his time in the music business. From Miles Davis to Paul Simon and beyond, Herbie’s stories are an insightful delight for all of us.”

Even veteran actor Bill Cosby had gave his opinions about the book; he called it a book of many
"treasures" and referred to Herbie as a genius who was able to define himself and his art form in the book.

Fellow musician Quincy Jones described Herbie as a brother "since before electricity"  and added that "if you like piano, or jazz, or music, or great stories, or life itself, you will love this book. Herbie Hancock has been electrifying audiences for decades, and now he’s about to do it to readers, too.”
To celebrate the launch of the book. there is an exclusive live Google+ Hangout planned for November Tuesday 11/4 from 6pm to 8pm PST

This hangout is via Grammy U and members will have the  chance to hear about Herbie's beginnings as a child prodigy to his work in Miles Davis's second great quintet; from his innovations as the leader of his groundbreaking sextet and not to mention his collaborations with Wayne Shorter, Joni Mitchell and Stevie Wonder.  The Hangout link can be found at http://smarturl.it/6bjmqx , follow the link to join the event.
