Cheryl Barnes' "Come With Me" has been nominated for best song in the upcoming 2014 Hollywood Music in Media Awards ceremony

A dynamic, powerful and sultry new presence in contemporary jazz, Cheryl Barnes has just scored a much coveted 2014 Hollywood Music in Media Award (HMMA) nomination in the Best Jazz Song category for “Come With Me."

The track, a mystical soul-jazz ballad, has been receiving spins on over 80 terrestrial and internet stations in the smooth jazz format. The singer’s multi-format appeal has also earned her significant Triple-A airplay for her heartfelt, jazzy rendition of Joni Mitchell’s “Come In From The Cold.”

Both tracks are from her new full length album Listen To This, which is scoring airplay everywhere from KCRW in Los Angeles to WNVW (The Wave) in Cleveland. The HMMAs will take place Tuesday, November 4 at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood, CA. The HMMAs honor music from visual mediums, individuals who create and produce it, and both mainstream and independent musicians from around the globe. Barnes is also a sensation on the premiere online indie music platform ReverbNation.

In the site’s jazz category, she ranks #1 in her hometown of Los Angeles, #1 nationally and #2 globally. The singer is also ranked #129 in all genres globally. Mark your calendars, Barnes will be appearing in a special live performance in Sherman Oaks on Friday, September 26 at 9 p.m. at the 5-star-rated, intimate EPIC Bar and Lounge.

Cheryl will be accompanied by Dr. Phillip Cabasso on keyboards and David Levray on bass. There is no cover, however reservations for dinner/drinks are highly recommended and can be made by calling 818-380-3180. Barnes recently shared a “Hot Night of Cool Jazz” with renowned R&B/Jazz singer Johnny Britt on August 16 in Port Hueneme, Calif.

A warm and intimate evening concert by the beach, the show – presented by the Port Hueneme Chamber of Commerce – was sponsored by the Holiday Inn Express and the Ventura County Star. She also recently released a video for “Come With Me” on YouTube which features her singing in many of Los Angeles’ most iconic and sunny locations; the clip was directed by award-winning videographer David West.
