SX Bookstore presents Miles Davis: The Collected Artwork

Miles Davis once said that "a painting is music you can see, and music is a painting you can hear."  Whether you are a fan of Miles music or artwork or even a combination of both, you will definitely appreciate the book Miles Davis: The Collected Artwork. The book is by Scott Gutterman with Miles Davis.  The foreword is by Quincy Jones while  the afterword is by Miles' daughter Cheryl Davis and reflections are by his nephew Vince Wilburn Jr. and son Erin Davis

The book is said to be a comprehensive collection of the globally renowned musician’s artwork. This long-overdue celebration of Davis’ visual art is a treasure for art lovers and music aficionados alike, who will appreciate this extraordinary window on the life of a creative genius. 
 
Vince Wilburn, Jr., will also be doing an SX Mentor Session immediately following (same day) from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. in Room 8BC of Austin Convention Center.

The spotlight currently is on Miles Davis, with the recent announcement of his biopic going into production this June, starring Don CheadleEwan McGregor and Zoe Saldana.
 
Additionally, New York City will re-name 77th Ave. on the Upper West Side as “Miles Davis Way” to honor the iconic genius at his former place of residency.
 
MILES AT THE  FILLMORE – Miles  Davis 1970: The Bootleg Series Vol. 3 – a 4 CD box set available March 25, presents four nights of historic performances at legendary Fillmore East in New York, in  their complete form for the first time. 


Additionally, over two hours of previously unissued music, including bonus tracks that were recorded at Fillmore West.
