Bob Baldwin is hosting fundraiser to release the "Baldwin with Strings" project

You just got to love jazz musician Bob Baldwin; it seems like he has a sincere commitment to the artform as he is continuously putting forth his efforts for the love of jazz.

As the owner of an online jazz radio network, he shares the music of his fellow jazz musicians within a 24/7 setting. Even more than that I've seen Bob pulled together a few musicians when he organized the fundraiser for flutist Dave Valentin; the $5,000 raised  was later passed on to Dave to offset his bills.

Today Bob needs assistance from his  fans to produce his upcoming CD, particularly to be able to incorporate a string ensemble. And like other musicians have done in the past, he has turned to the crowdfunding method to help to produce the CD.

This is a big deal as it is the first time that Bob is incorporating strings into his music. The new CD would be Bob's 21st and  it remains untitled, he has already laid down the groundwork to 10 tracks.

The CD will be released independently and your donation to the fund can take you really far into this CD making process. For instance, if you choose to make a one time Gold Level Payment of $100, you will get a free hat of your choice from the NewUrbanJazz Hats Collection, a copy of Bob's latest CD called "Twenty" plus a copy of the disc you are actually contributing to when it is completed.

Other donation levels include the Silver Level package where you pay $50 and get a copy of Bob's latest CD "Twenty" and the yet to be titled CD.

The "Twenty" disc and NewUrbanJazz hats will be mailed on April 1, 2014.

ALL PARTICIPANTS will receive the new CD one month before release date. The recording will be released first quarter, 2015.

Those making a contribution will have to provide an email address in order to receive their product.

Here is a breakdown of how the funding will be allocated:

Violin Recording Expenses:
The expenses raised will be used to cover the recording fees of all string musicians (over 20) who are on a Union scale pay system for $24,000.00. In addition, attached to the recording of fees are studio expenses, engineer fees and editing fees for 6 songs.

Additional Musician Expenses:
Another part of the expenditures are the guest artists. Baldwin has access to great artists, including the previously mentioned artist. A guest vocalist or sax solos come with a cost. There are also Drums, Bass and Guitar tracks over 6 songs. $10,000.00 will be needed to cover these expenses.

Additional Miscellaneous:
Final mixing and mastering expenses, manufacturing, marketing and artwork bring up the final expenses, totaling $11,000.00.
